Guanacaste is a province of Costa Rica.

The province is locate along the coast of the Pacific Ocean and lies in the north western part of the country bordering Nicaragua in the North. According to the 2000 census, Guanacaste had a population of 264,238 which makes it the most sparsely populated of all the Costa Rica provinces.

The climate and culture of the province is very unique with little rain in the whole year and summers from November to April.
